Historical-Geographical region Svaneti is located in the Northwestern part of Georgia. This is one of the most visited and expanding tourist destinations in Georgia. Tourism resources of Svaneti are diverse and give the opportunity for various types of experience, such as cultural, eco, extreme, and winter skiing tours. Svaneti is particularly attractive for mountaineers. Ushba and Shkhara (the latter is the highest glacier in Georgia – 5200 meters) are the most challenging glaciers in the Caucasus. Cuisine of Svaneti deserves special mentioning. It stands out for specific flavor and traditional methods of preparation. Regular flights to Mestia from Natakhtari Aerodrome are carried out four times a week. This significantly reduces the travel time and gives the opportunity to enjoy unique nature of Svaneti.
